Qidi X-Max Printer

Qidi X-Max Large Format Printer

The X-Max is Qidi's large format printer, having a build volume of 300mm w x 275mm d x 300mm h (11.8" x 10.8" x 11.8").

This printer is advertised to print in PLA, ABS, TPU, Nylon. Carbon Fiber Filament (typically PLA, ABS, PETG or Nylon impregnated with short carbon fibers), and PVC. Though not listed on their site, this printer will also lay down PETG.

The printer is shipped with two extruders. A low-temperature extruder suitable for PLA, ABS, and TPU. A second, high temperature extruder can be installed to use materials such as Nylon, Carbon Fiber Filament, PVC, and PETG.

The X-Max pushes 1.75mm filament through a 0.4mm nozzle.

The gcode read by the X-Max is a tweaked Marlin variant, some of which is apparently being treated as proprietary by Qidi. gcode is fed to the printer via USB storage, or via your network (WiFi or hard-wired). Some form of USB storage is required in either method - gcode is written to USB storage in either and the printer has no internal storage. The included QidiPrint software (a Cura remix) includes a utility to identify your printer on your network, send gcode to it, monitor the machine, as well as some manual controls. An optional, standalone Qidi Control Panel is available to enable the same functions (send, monitor, control) outside of QidiPrint.
